Trabzonspor manager, Abdullahi Avci claimed the club is still working hard to sign forward Paul Onuachu from Southampton.

Onuachu spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor.

The Nigerian made a big impression scoring 15 goals for the former Turkish Super Lig champions.

Trabzonspor has been trying to secure his release on a permanent transfer but has not been able to match Southampton’s asking price.

Southampton are demanding £15m, the same fee they paid Belgian Pro League outfit, KRC Genk to acquire the services of the player in January 2023.

“We spoke with Paul Onuachu 3-4 days ago; he also wishes to join us. At this moment, I cannot confirm if it will happen or not. Our president is working diligently on this matter. We need to be patient,” Avci was quoted by Sabah Spor.
