Rivers United are leading the race to sign Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie.

According to reports, Remo Stars, Enyimba and Plateau United are also showing interest in the shot stopper.

Rivers United head coach, Finidi George is reported to be in direct contact with the goalkeeper.

The Pride of Rivers are in the market for a new goalkeeper following Victor Sochima’s departure from the club.

Obasogie won the golden glove award with 18 clean sheets in the NPFL last season.

It was the most clean sheets by a goalkeeper in a single season in the history of the NPFL.

Obasogie has been Bendel Insurance first choice goalkeeper for the past three seasons.

Rivers United are rebuilding their team following a disappointing 2023-24 campaign.

The Pride of Rivers finished in eighth place last season.
