Rivers Angels head coach, Whyte Ogbonda can’t hide his excitement after ending his trophyless run, DAILY POST reports.
Ogbonda’s Rivers Angels claimed the 2024 women’s President Federation Cup title after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Naija Ratels on Saturday.
Blessing Okpe scored the winning goal from the penalty spot late in the first half.
Ogbonda had lost twice in the final during his stint in charge of Ibom Angels.
“The match wasn’t an easy one because I wasn’t expecting an easy game from Naija Ratels.
“I’ve joined a team like Rivers Angels where I have experienced and young players capable of winning trophies.
“There was pressure on me to win, and I am happy today to have broken the jinx as a trophyless coach,” Ogbonda said.
