Former Arsenal star, Gilberto Silva has urged his old club to sign Manchester United’s Casemiro as Thomas Partey’s replacement at Emirates if the Ghanian international eventually leaves the club.

Partey has been linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer.

However, Silva believes Casemiro would bring stability in Arsenal’s midfield under Mikel Arteta.

“For me, Casemiro is still a good player. I don’t know whether he’s going to stay or not in the club, but he is a player I would love to have on my team,” Silva told Bet365.

He added, “Casemiro could be a good fit for Arsenal, let’s wait and see what happens.

“It would be very interesting if Thomas Partey left the club. If that spot becomes available then it would be interesting to see Casemiro there.

“He would bring a very strong and stable option to their midfield.”
