Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong could miss the rest of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury, DAILY POST reports.
Troost-Ekong, DAILY POST learnt, sustained a hamstring injury in the Super Eagles’ 1-0 victory against hosts Cote d’Ivoire last Thursday.
The 30-year-old copped the injury in the first half of the game.
The former Watford star scored the winning goal for Nigeria against Cote d’Ivoire from the spot.
The PAOK Salonica of Greece player has already been ruled out of Monday’s clash with the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.
The centre-back, who is expected to undergo a scan to know the extent of the injury, now faces a race to be fit for the rest of the competition.
Left-back Zaidu Sanusi is also nursing an injury and will miss the encounter with Guinea-Bissau.
