Enyimba midfielder Chibueze Izuogu has said his first goal for the club was a reward for hardwork.

Izuogu fired home the winning goal for the title holders deep into stoppage time of the 2-1 victory at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.

Chijioke Mbaoma gave Enyimba the lead from the spot four minutes before the hour mark.

Kareem Ademola equalised for the hosts four minutes from time.

Izuogu then popped in with the winner late on.

He said the players showed strong character in getting the away victory.

“It was a solid performance from the team and I’m very happy to have scored my first goal in the Nigeria Premier Football League,” he told DAILY POST.

“I worked really hard for this moment, I appreciate my teammates and coaches for pushing us to be the best.”
