Thomas Frank of Brentford has issued a warning to England ahead of their second group match against Denmark.

England began their Euro 2024 campaign with a narrow hard-fought victory over Serbia on Monday.

Frank is now warning the Three Lions about the mindset of Denmark ahead of their meeting.

Gareth Southgate’s men will play Denmark on Thursday in their second Group C match at the tournament.

Both countries previously faced each other in Euro 2020 with the Danes bowing out in the semi-finals in contentious fashion at the hands of England.

In that game, Raheem Sterling was adjudged to have been fouled and England were awarded a controversial penalty in extra-time.

England captain, Harry Kane stepped forward to put the ball at the back of the net to send England to the final at Wembley.

The penalty sparked a great deal of ire among Denmark players, who were prepared to win that game and progressed to the final.

And now, Danish tactician Frank, who is on punditry duties with the BBC, said that Denmark will be motivated for the game.

“In Denmark, they will definitely remember that semi-final. And the penalty,” the Dane said.

“Or the foul on Sterling for the penalty. Borderline, let’s say it that way.

“But of course England are the favourites. They are one of the favourites for the Euro and they have a very good squad. I think they have a very good chance to win it.”
