Former England striker, Wayne Rooney, has said he would like the Three Lions to beat Portugal in the Euro 2024 final.

The Euro 2024 started last Friday in Germany.

England have already won their first game against Serbia.

Portugal, meanwhile, will face Czech Republic in their first group game on Tuesday night.

Speaking on The Overlap, Rooney said:

“Just because of my experiences, I would say Portugal [as the team I want England to beat the most]. Broke me in 2004, I got sent off in 2006, and they beat us on penalties both times.

“I’d love to see England beat Portugal in the final [of Euro 2024].”
