President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau believes the Super Eagles victory against Cote d’Ivoire will be a remarkable turnaround for the team.
The Super Eagles started their campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on lacklustre note, playing out a 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea.
Jose Peseiro’s men however bounced back by beating hosts Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in their next game.
Gusau believes the team can build on the win in subsequent games in the competition.
“Everybody is happy with the win against Cote d’Ivoire and by the grace of God, this is the beginning and it has opened the door for more success,” Sanusi stated while addressing the players at their Pullman Hotel base.
“The most important thing is we have gone two matches, we don’t have injuries, everybody is happy.”
The Super Eagles will be up against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in their last group game at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, next week Monday.
