Robert De Zerbi is set to make a return to management after leaving Brighton at the end of the season.
The Italian left the Amex after two years, with a difference in vision for the future believed to be the reason for his exit.
Brighton will replace De Zerbi with 31-year-old Fabian Hurzeler.
But De Zerbi himself will continue his coaching career in France, according to the UK Sun.
He was linked with Manchester United, but with Erik ten Hag set to continue at Old Trafford, De Zerbi will now take over at Marseille.
Marseille ended last season eighth in the league, finishing the campaign under Jean-Louis Gasset, who took over from Gennaro Gattuso in February.
