Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has named four players Finidi George’s side misses ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Benin Republic on Monday evening.

Ndidi spoke at his pre-match press conference on Sunday ahead of Nigeria’s clash with Benin at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.

The four players are Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina and Ahmed Musa.

They were not included in Finidi’s squad that drew 1-1 against South Africa in Uyo and also the Benin clash on June 10.

DAILY POST reports that Osimhen is unavailable for selection due to injury.

Troost-Ekong and Musa were not called up because they lacked match fitness.

Speaking on how the Super Eagles will cope without the four players, Ndidi told reporters: “For me, these players are very key to us, they are experienced players.

“For everything, the team comes first, when players are not available they are always good players to fill up those positions.

“The team is always ready for this and though we miss those players, no doubt, it doesn’t change the fact that we actually want to qualify for the World Cup.”
