Wilfred Ndidi is relishing the prospect of coming up against former Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr.
DAILY POST reports that Rohr, who managed the Super Eagles from 2016 to 2021 will lead the Squirrels of Benin Republic against his former side in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Monday.
The encounter is slated for the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.
Ndidi stated that facing the Frenchman will be a big motivation for the Super Eagles.
“Gernot Rohr, he coached us for five years, but within those years players are coming, players are going,” the Leicester City player told a press conference ahead of the game.
“Facing him is actually a motivation because we know he’s a good coach, and we know he’s going to plan to win.
“We approaching that game we have to show him that he actually missed something in the team, that’s what we have to do now.”
