Former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has hailed Kobbie Mainoo and Adam Wharton’s performances on England debuts that earned them the Euro 2024 call-ups.
The duo are set to feature for the Three Lions at the UEFA Euro 2024 later this month.
Mainoo was impressive for Man United last season, registering five goals and three assists in 35 games across competitions.
Wharton, meanwhile, has been impressive for Crystal Palace.
“I think both on their debuts made outstanding performances. Having played for England and remembering my early days, you know the feeling of nerves sometimes, I am meant to be here and settling into a team, and going on playing at Wembley and playing high-level games, it is a real step-up,” Lampard told talkSPORT (via The Boot Room).
“So to perform like they both have done and show that level, I mean, that’s why Gareth would have picked them.”
