Bugesera FC striker, Elijah Ani, is in the running for the inaugural Rwanda Premier League Player of the Year award, DAILY POST reports.

The Nigerian was the top scorer in the Rwandan top-flight during the 2023/24 season.

Ani registered 15 goals in 27 league outings for Bugesera.

The well-built forward’s goals helped the modest side escape relegation.

Bugesera also made it to the final of the Peace Cup but lost to Police FC.

APR’s Jean Bosco Ruboneka and Rayon Sports star Kevin Muhire are other players in contention for the award.

The award ceremony will hold at the prestigious Serena Hotel, Kigali, on Saturday, June 15.
