Former Super Eagles head coach, Samson Siasia, has said Victor Osimhen’s absence could affect the team’s chances of getting favourable results in their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
Osimhen has been ruled out of the two crucial games due to injury.
Siasia reckoned the Napoli hitman’s absence would make things difficult for the Super Eagles
“It will be difficult for the Super Eagles as they will be without a key player (Osimhen), and while South Africa will be coming with the same coach and players, we have a new coach,” Siasia was quoted by SCORENigeria.
The Super Eagles are winless in Group C and must beat South Africa and Benin Republic to get back into contention.
The West Africans will clash with Bafana Bafana in Uyo on Friday and then travel to Abidjan to face the Squirrels three days later.
