Al-Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted after setting a record for most goals in a Saudi Pro League season.
The Portugal international did so with a brace as Luis Castro’s side saw defeated Al-Ittihad 4-2 at home on Monday in their final league game of the season.
The former Manchester United forward broke the deadlock in the third minute of first-half stoppage time before making it 2-0 midway through the second half.
His teammate Abdulrahman Ghareeb put the hosts three goals up before Al-Ittihad pulled two goals back.
However, Al-Nassr confirmed the three points through a late Meshari Al-Nemer strike to close out their league campaign with a victory.
Reacting, Ronaldo, in a post via his Instagram, wrote:
“I don’t follow the records, the records follow me.”
Ronaldo’s brace mean, he took his goals tally to 35 in the Saudi League this season, surpassing the previous record of 34 goals scored in the 2018–19 season by Abderrazak Hamdallah.
