Arne Slot, who was appointed Liverpool’s new manager on Monday, is reportedly eager to bring Orkun Kokcu to Anfield for the 2024-25 season.

Kokcu made a name for himself under Slot’s guidance at Feyenoord before moving to Benfica in a £26 million deal in 2023.

This season, he played a key role in helping Benfica secure second place in the Primeira Liga and win the Supertaca Candido de Oliveira.

Known for his set-piece prowess, the Turkish playmaker started 33 out of 43 matches for Benfica, contributing seven goals and 11 assists.

According to Turkish news outlet Fotospor, Slot has identified Kokcu as his top transfer target for Liverpool.

However, the Reds are expected to face competition from Besiktas in the race to sign him.

If Kokcu joins Liverpool, he would bring significant depth and quality to the squad, providing strong competition for midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, and Ryan Gravenberch.
