Arsenal are considering a blockbuster loan deal for Al-Ittihad striker, Karim Benzema, TeamTalk reports.

However, it is understood the Gunners’ London rivals, Chelsea have also discussed a move for the Frenchman.

Benzema joined the Saudi Pro League outfit last June as a free agent after leaving Real Madrid.

However, the 36-year-old is not settled in the Middle East and is being linked with a return to European football.

Arsenal are interested in Benzema if they can get the veteran striker on a temporary deal.

Mikel Arteta needs a new No.9 after both Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah’s struggles in front of goal this season.

And while the Gunners’ boss has publicly played down talk of signing a striker in January, the Premier League club are open to opportunities in the market.
