Ekerette Udom doubled the advantage five minutes later.

Niger Tornadoes fought back, with Clinton Jeptha reducing the deficit on the hour mark.

Rivers United regained their two-goal lead through Abubakar Adams two minutes later.

Bashir Usman ensured a nervy end to the game by halving the deficit 13 minutes from end.

Rivers United moved to ninth place on the table following the win, while Tornadoes remain in 12th place.
