Former Nigerian international, Mutiu Adepoju, has advised the Super Eagles on what to do to beat Ivory Coast when both teams clash in Thursday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, tie.
According to Adepoju, the Super Eagles must approach the game against Ivory Coast with all seriousness, aggressiveness and make sure that they take all the goal-scoring chances against the host if they want to come out victorious after 90 minutes.
Nigeria head to the game after playing 1-1 draw in their last game against Equatorial Guinea, while Ivory Coast defeated Guinea-Bissau 2-0.
“I think it is just unfortunate that we didn’t win the first game against Equatorial Guinea. And it won’t be easy to face the hosts, who have already gotten the three points and they will want to consolidate on their qualification by winning the second game and not waiting for the third game,” Adepoju told Completesports.
“I think the Super Eagles must approach the game with all seriousness, aggressiveness and they should make sure that they take all the goal-scoring chances that they have.”
“Anyhow, we must try to ensure we win against Ivory Coast,” he added.
