Manchester United icon, Roy Keane, is relieved that forward Anthony Martial will leave Old Trafford at the end of the season.

The French forward has struggled for game time under manager Erik ten Hag, featuring in just 19 matches across all competitions this season, with a modest tally of two goals and one assist.

Martial, whose contract expires this summer, joined Man United in 2015 but has never solidified his position as a regular starter.

Martial, alongside his fellow countryman, Raphael Varane, bade farewell to the Old Trafford fans on Wednesday after Man United’s 3-2 win over Newcastle United.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane said: “At least his contract’s up.

“At least that’s a plus. You go listen, off you go but again, it won’t be easy.”
