South Africa goalkeeper, Rowen Williams says the Bafana Bafana are coming to Uyo to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday three encounter will hold at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday, June 7.

The former African champions defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 the last time both teams met on the same ground.

The Super Eagles edged their semi-final contest 4-2 on penalties at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Williams is however optimistic they can beat Nigeria again in Uyo.

“The last time we went to Nigeria we beat them. I was part of that squad so I will share my experience with the players,” Williams was quoted by the Citizens.

“And it was a valuable experience in the Afcon, playing Nigeria. I think that was one of our better games at the Afcon, so it is possible to go there and get a result. Why not? We have shown we can compete with the best, we just need to show that consistency.”
