In the aftermath of Chelsea’s dominating 5-0 triumph against West Ham United, manager Mauricio Pochettino expressed his aspirations for European contention, emphasizing its significance for the team and players this season.
Reflecting on the match during his post-game press conference, Pochettino highlighted the team’s dedication to securing a place in Europe, underlining its importance for the club’s growth and development.
A brace from Nicolas Jackson and a goal each from Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher and Noni Madueke gave Chelsea the win over West Ham at Stamford Bridge.
“I don’t want to say nothing because from the beginning of the season I said we should win because we are Chelsea. The team will now be focusing on preparing for the game on Saturday,” Pochettino said.
“We need to be mature, keep the momentum and look to improve every single game. We are trying to be in Europe. It will be good for the team and the players to be in Europe this season.”
The result against West Ham leave Chelsea in 7th position with 54 points from 35 games.
