Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has commended Jadon Sancho for battling through his mental struggles at Manchester United and producing a remarkable individual performance in Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Wednesday.
Sancho was a constant menace on the pitch, proving to be a thorn in PSG’s side and creating numerous opportunities throughout the game.
Niclas Fullkrug’s 36th-minute strike put Dortmund ahead of next week’s game in Paris.
Despite missing a golden opportunity to add to his side’s tally during the match, Sancho’s performance was praised highly by Henry who commended him for rising above the challenges he faced at Manchester United.
“It’s not easy to deal with mental health, and you can see that when someone is feeling good up there, then they can perform,” said Henry on CBS Sports.
