Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has explained why he substituted Jude Bellingham in their 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Bellingham was replaced by Luka Modric in the 75th minute of the clash at the Allianz Arena.
The England midfielder left the pitch with Real still chasing an equaliser after Leroy Sane and Harry Kane had turned things around following Vinicius Jr’s record-equalling opener.
It was a blow to lose Bellingham after 21 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances so far this season, but Ancelotti claims the player had been physically struggling since the hour mark.
“Jude Bellingham was not at the best level tonight, but the same for the entire team.
“Bellingham got cramps after 60 minutes, so I had to substitute him,” Ancelotti said.
