Wrexham are battling to sign Arthur Okonkwo on a permanent deal amid interest from Premier League and Championship clubs.

Okonkwo impressed during his loan stint at Wrexham, helping the club secure promotion to League One.

The 22-year-old was named in the League Two Team of the Season.

He kept 13 clean sheets in 34 appearances.

The shot stopper’s contract with Arsenal will expire at the end of the season and there has been no sign of talks over an extension.

According to the Daily Mail, interest is growing in Okonkwo, which could scupper Wrexham’s chances of signing him on a permanent basis.
