Nasarawa United head coach, Adams Usman has commended his players for the victory over EFCC FC.
The Solid Miners defeated EFCC FC 2-0 in their last home game of the 2024 Nigeria National League season.
Terdoo Shimaga grabbed a brace for Nasarawa United at the Lafia City Stadium on Saturday.
Nasarawa United will need a win in the next game against Sokoto United to have a chance of progressing to the Super Eight championship playoffs.
El-Kanemi Warriors have already secured qualification to the playoff after topping Group C table with 34 points.
“Win by whatever margin, was what we needed today, and we got it, even though it’s not how we wanted the scoreline to be,” he stated in a post-match interview.
“We struck the upright and woodwork on a couple of occasions but we are still grateful for the outcome at the end of the day.
“I commend my players for taking the chances that led to the two goals.
“Going forward, the permutations are still ongoing as we go into our last game of the Conference on the road in Sokoto a week from now.
“We have the advantage to top the Group as we look forward to picking an outright win against Zamfara United.
“I wish to reiterate that our supporters and fans should still keep hope alive as qualification for the play-off is very much not a bygone.”
