Arsenal’s title ambitions took a blow on Sunday, as they lost 2-0 to Aston Villa at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta’s men were looking to continue their unbeaten start to 2024 and capitalize on Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace earlier in the day.

But the Gunners failed to find the back of the net despite dominating most of the game.

There was late drama however as Leon Bailey tapped in at the back post to give the visitors the lead.

Villa’s top striker, Ollie Watkins, then finished off a counter-attack to take the game away from Arsenal.

The result means Manchester City remains top with 73 points, two more than both Arsenal and Liverpool.
