Manchester City playmaker, Kevin De Bruyne has equalled Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney’s 1703 Premier League assists.

This comes after De Bruyne’s heroic display in Man City’s Premier League win over Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Belgian has missed almost the entire season with a hamstring injury but recently made his return to first-team action.

De Bruyne was an unused substitute in the 2-0 win over Sheffield United at the end of December but came off the bench as Pep Guardiola’s side beat Newcastle 3-2 at St James’ Park.

He came off the bench to score a goal and also provided a delightful ball for Oscar Bobb.

Speaking to TNT after the game, De Bruyne said, “I missed this.

“It is what it is, I had a big injury and I needed the time. I enjoyed myself. It was crazy.”
