Nottingham Forest are hopeful Taiwo Awoniyi will return to action before the end of the season.
Awoniyi has struggled with injuries this season.
The Nigeria international has already missed a chunk of the campaign after undergoing a groin surgery.
The 26-year-old retuned to action in January but is currently sidelined again with a thigh injury.
Awoniyi has missed Forest’s last four games due to the setback.
The striker is now set to undergo a scan this week, according to The Telegraph.
It is hoped the scan will provide clarity on when Awoniyi can make his comeback.
Nottingham Forest have six games remaining as they battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
It would be a big boost for head coach Nuno Espirito Santo if Awoniyi is in contention to feature in some of those fixtures.
