Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has admitted that he hoped they would head to Manchester City with a lead in their Champions League quarter-final first leg.
However, Ancelotti has backed Los Blancos to win the second leg.
The LaLiga giants played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with City at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg.
Real fought back to overturn an early deficit, but then squandered a lead, and were forced to settle for a draw at home.
Speaking after the game, Ancelotti said: “What I wanted was to take a small advantage, but we have to be satisfied.
“We have competed and if we do so also in the second leg we can go through.”
