Rivers United crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup following a 2-0 defeat to USMA of Algeria.

The holders sealed their place in the last four 2-1 on aggregate.

Malian striker, Abdullah Kanou opened the scoring for the hosts eight minutes before the break.

Rivers United came close to equalizing in the 72nd minute but Andy Ogbai’s header hit the crossbar.

Kanou struck again in the 74th minute, securing his side a place in the semi-finals.

USM Alger will face Moroccan club, Berkane in the semi-finals later this month.
