Kylian Mbappe’s mother, Fayza Lamari, has said the Paris Saint-Germain striker would have accepted a €10 billion salary from the club had it been offered to him.
Mbappe became one of the highest-paid athletes in the world after he accepted a salary worth a reported €72 million (£62m/$79m) to extend his contract at PSG in 2022.
Lamari, the 25-year-old’s agent, has now defended their demands for the highest possible wages from the French giants.
Speaking to Envoye Special, she said: “There is no guilt, no shame. If we could have taken €10 billion (£9bn/$11bn), we would have taken it because the system demands it.”
