Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has said he would like to see the Reds sign Manchester United’s midfielder, Kobbie Mainoo.
Mainoo has been impressive in his debut season at Old Trafford, with his composure and ability catching the eye of many.
Although Liverpool already has a solid midfield, Carragher believes the 18-year-old could improve the team’s depth and quality in that area.
Mainoo’s preferred position is as a deep-lying midfielder, where he excels in receiving the ball and progressing play.
When asked about which United player he would like to see at Anfield, Carragher chose Mainoo, saying he looks like a ‘superstar’ and is one of the brightest prospects in England.
“I think I would probably take the young kid, Mainoo. Mainoo, his age, number one. I think he looks like a superstar,” Carragher told The Overlap.
“I’m trying to think of who else in the United team is better than a Liverpool player in their position really.”
