Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has explained Bukayo Saka’s substitution during their 0-0 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.

Saka was doubtful for the Premier League clash at the Etihad, but was handed a start against the champions.

However, the 22-year-old was taken off in the 78th minute of the encounter.

Saka was replaced by Gabriel Martinelli after he went down clutching his leg in the second half.

But Arteta, speaking after the game, insisted he was okay and was only struggling with fatigue.

“Nothing serious. As you know, he has been out for a few weeks now with a little problem.

“He was feeling fatigued. He only trained one day before the match. He had a big contribution but it was a lot, 90 minutes for him today,” Arteta said.
