Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane has said Liverpool are now the favourites to dethrone Manchester City, after the Premier League champions played out a 0-0 with Arsenal at the Etihad on Sunday.
The Reds went into last weekend’s fixtures one point ahead of City, but behind the Gunners on goal difference.
However, they have now leapfrogged their rivals, thanks to a 2-1 victory over Brighton.
Jurgen Klopp’s men will head into their next fixture with a two-point lead at the summit.
With just nine games remaining, Keane has said that they were the big winners of the day.
He said on Sky Sports: “Liverpool are the real winners of today, obviously winning and watching these two teams draw.
“Liverpool will be delighted.
“You’re looking at the table now and thinking Liverpool will be favourites for it, but with the amount of quality on the pitch that is why we’re disappointed [with the Man City/Arsenal game].”
