During the match between Arsenal and Manchester City on Sunday, Manchester United legend, Gary Neville expressed disappointment with David Raya’s performance in goal for the Gunners.

Despite making a crucial save to deny Nathan Ake, Raya had a poor game with his kicking, frequently missing his targets, and even falling over as he kicked the ball.

As a result, he faced jeers from the home fans.

Neville criticised Raya’s performance, particularly his poor kicking, during Sky Sports’ coverage of the game.

The former defender also suggested that the first half of the match was “strange”, with neither team able to score despite opportunities for both sides.

“Raya’s kicking has been terrible,’ Neville said.

“It’s not helping him that he keeps falling over as he kicks it.”

Neville’s comments come amid increasing scrutiny of Arsenal’s goalkeeping position, with rumours circulating that the club is seeking a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.

Raya, who joined Arsenal from Brentford last year, has been inconsistent in his performances this season, leading to calls for a replacement to be brought in.
