Rivers United technical adviser, Stanley Eguma has expressed dissatisfaction with his team’s failure to convert their chances in their victory against USM Alger.
The Pride of Rivers secured a slim 1-0 win against the Algerian side at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo on Sunday.
Augustine Okejepha scored the only goal of the quarter-final first-leg tie.
Eguma said the team will work on the lapses identified ahead of the return leg in Algiers.
“We worked hard to create chances but the chances were not converted,” he said in a post-match interview.
“We will go back to the drawing board and see how we can improve on that.
“For the scoreline, we just thank God we were able to win because that is the most important thing.
“We will go away to Algeria with a good fight and hopefully we will come out with a better result.”
The return leg is billed for the Stade du Juliet next week Sunday.
