Plateau United technical adviser, Mbwas Mangut has commended his players for showing positive character in their win against Rivers United.
The Peace Boys defeated Rivers United 3-2 in a rescheduled encounter at the New Jos Stadium on Wednesday.
Yakubu Adams, Albert Hilary and Muhammad Umaru netted for Plateau United in the game, while Andy Okpe and Endurance Ebedibiri scored for Rivers United.
Plateau United’s Moses Adikwu was sent off in the second half of the game.
“It’s very difficult to play with a man down in a game of this magnitude,” he told Plateau United media.
“But I must commend the players for showing character in securing the victory,” he said.
Plateau United moved up to fifth position with 28 points.
They will take on Enyimba next at home in the league on Saturday.
