The supplementary election for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency seat in Taraba State witnessed a significant turnout of voters across polling units on Wednesday.
At all the fifteen polling units in Jalingo metropolis, voters displayed enthusiasm to exercise their franchise, with queues forming as early as 7:00 am ahead of the commencement of polling by 8:30 am.
Observers noted a peaceful and orderly atmosphere compared to the previous rerun election held on February 3rd, 2024.
Accreditation and voting commenced simultaneously at 8:30 am under tight security measures.
Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Suldi, the state chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, expressed satisfaction with the turnout, suggesting it could have been higher if the election had been scheduled for a weekend.
Respondents from various political parties echoed similar sentiments, acknowledging the improved turnout compared to the inconclusive rerun election held the previous week.
