A tribunal panel for the just concluded Sokoto and Zamfara Houses of Assembly re-run elections 2024 has been constituted.

This was disclosed by the President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice M.B. Dongban-Mensem, through a circular she personally signed, dated 2nd of February, 2024 and addressed to the Chief Judge of High Court of Justice, Sokoto State.

The circular explained that the Constitution of the Appeal Tribunal was based on Section 285 (b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and Paragraph 1 (1,2,3) to the sixth schedule of the Constitution.

It further stated that the constitution of the appeal panel was in compliance with Section 130 (3)(a)(b) of the Electoral Act, 2022.

As contained in the circular, the President of the Court of Appeal appealed to the Chief Judge of High Court of Justice, Sokoto State, to facilitate court halls for members of the panel in two respective States, as well as office accommodation for the official conduct of staff of the Panel.
