Geraldo Rivera pulled no punches with his criticism of comments that were made at former president and current GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally in New York City on Sunday.
Podcaster Tony Hinchcliffe kicked off the event with a series of outrageous alleged jokes, at one point saying: “There’s a lot going on. I don’t know if you know this but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”
Former Fox News personality Rivera, whose father was from Puerto Rico, responded furiously on X, formerly Twitter, where he wrote: “Fuck these racists.”
“Latino men of good will, have pride in yourselves and your ancestors. A vote for Trump is a vote against self-respect,” he added.

Earlier this month, Rivera, a longtime Republican, announced his endorsement of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris over GOP candidate Donald Trump, his former yearslong friend, in the 2024 election.
“If you are a Republican, Donald Trump has made a liar of you,” he explained his decision. “He has coaxed and intimidated tens of millions into pretending he was reelected in 2020, and that the election was stolen.”
Trump stabbed “the Constitution in the back” on Jan. 6, 2021, “by inciting and unleashing the violent attack on the center of democracy, the U.S. Capitol for which he was Impeached,” he added.
