The Allied Conservative Congress (ACC), has vowed to resist any attempt to subvert the will of the electorate during the Abia State local government election.

The Chairman of the party in Abia State, Uwalaka Onyekachi who said this in Umuahia, claimed that his party has received a classified report that the November 2 election may not be free and fair.

He advised the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC), led by Professor George Chima to conduct a free and transparent election and not to work in favour of any political party or candidate.

Uwalaka cautioned that it would no longer be business as usual, as according to him, AAC is set for the polls and would resist any form of election rigging.

The ACC Chairman, who described Abia as a medium-level risk area in terms of election violence, further underscored the importance of compliance with electoral laws and regulations to forestall violence during and after the election.

However, Chairman of the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission, Professor George Chima has maintained that the polls will be transparent.
