Fox News anchor Bret Baier took it personally when viewers claimed his interview Wednesday with Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris wouldn’t be above-board.
In an unusual move, Baier answered many of their complaints and conspiracy theories individually on X. Some of the exchanges are both amusing and frustrating.
Baier, the host of the “Special Report” news program, has alienated some viewers by disputing former President Donald Trump’s claims that the election was stolen and confronting him on others. That sets him apart from the opinion show hosts on the conservative cable network, who have frequently repeated Trump’s statements uncritically.
The Republican nominee criticized Baier after Harris was booked on what Trump often perceives as his own PR channel.
His supporters also piled on. “No doubt she already has the list of questions, not sure I trust him!” one person wrote.
“No one has the questions. Except me. Thanks,” Baier wrote back.
″@BretBaier will probably pass her the questions,” predicted another.
“No. No he won’t. Thanks for watching,” the newsman replied.
