Amid festering crisis, Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Thursday swore-in newly-elected executives of the party.

The newly-elected chairman of the party in the state, Mr Chris Abah, was sworn-in alongside 14 other members of the State Working Committee, SWC.

Barr Sam Tsumba administered the oath of office on the new executives at the party’s state secretariat in New GRA, Makurdi.

He performed the ceremony on behalf of Benue PDP Caretaker committee and afterwards congratulated the officials for their emergence as party leaders.

Mr Abah and other officials were elected during the Benue State PDP Congress held in the state on October 3.

Other members of the executives swore in were, the Deputy Chairman, Hon Clement Azuanongo, Secretary, Mr Moses Audu, Youth Leader, Saater Atser and Woman Leader, Grace Abine, among others.

Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated Exco, the Chairman, Hon Abah, assured that under his leadership, every effort will be made to return Benue State to the PDP.

“I accept this great responsibility to reposition the party and call on members with good disposition to rally round the party to bounce back in 2027.”

Recall that Benue PDP is factionalised into Ortom/Moro and Suswan camps, which held parallel State Congresses on October 3.
