The Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission, JISIEC, has commenced the distribution of sensitive materials for the local government election scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2024.

JISIEC chairman Auwalu Muhammad Harbo disclosed this while speaking to newsmen during the distribution.

He said the sensitive materials include ballot papers, results sheets and forms.

Harbo explained that the commission has concluded all the necessary arrangements to ensure that the materials reached the polling units on time.

According to him: “We have provided enough security and other arrangements to ensure that the election commences at 8 am.”

The distribution of sensitive materials was monitored by party agents, security agencies and journalists.

DAILY POST observed that 15 political parties, including the New Nigeria Peoples Party and Peoples Democratic Party, have filled candidates in some local governments.
