MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski on Thursday asked former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson why Republicans like her — who have been vocally critical of Donald Trump and have endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the 2024 election ― appear to be “so few and far between” at such a critical moment in the history of the United States.
It’s “something that perplexes me frequently,” replied Hutchinson, who said she is at a loss to explain why “so many Republicans, specifically the men, are still cloaking themselves in cowardice, especially in the face of Donald Trump and JD Vance.”
The current GOP is “something that is completely unrecognizable from what it was,” she continued.
“There are still good Republicans out there trying to salvage what is left of the party, but we need more people to step forward,” she added, citing outgoing Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) as one potential example.
November’s election is “so much bigger than a political party,” she warned.
