Far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) faced criticism for her attendance — alongside Donald Trump — at the Alabama-Georgia college football game in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Sunday while Georgia was reeling from the fallout from Hurricane Helene, which killed at least 11 in the state.
Greene shared a photo on X, formerly Twitter, of herself and Trump at the game.
“A MAN OF THE PEOPLE!!” the conspiracy theorist captioned the image.
“Great to see President Trump tonight in Tuscaloosa,” she wrote, adding: “100K strong to Make America Great Again!!!”
Critics suggested Greene should have been in Georgia assisting with the recovery effort. Some remembered fellow MAGA Republican Ted Cruz’s 2021 trip to Cancun, Mexico, amid a deadly winter storm.
Georgia lost to Alabama, 41-34.
