Former President Donald Trump said once again that any American “Jewish person” who votes for Vice President Kamala Harris is a “fool,” claiming Democrats had a “hold or curse” over the voting bloc that doesn’t make any sense.
“Any Jewish person who votes for her should have their head examined,” the Republican presidential candidate said at one of two events in Washington, D.C, on Thursday. “I find it hard to believe, part of it is a habit, I think.”
Trump added, “The Jewish people would have a lot to do with a loss. It’s only because of the Democrat hold, or curse, on you.”
The former president spoke at a summit meant to address the rise in antisemitism in America and another event for the Israeli American Council National Summit.
Trump has long tried to strong-arm Jewish voters into supporting him, claiming he is the only candidate who cares about Israel and saying repeatedly the country would not exist without him in the White House. In the pair of appearances, Trump said if he loses to Harris in November, the blame would fall largely on them.
“If I don’t win this election, the Jewish people would have a lot to do with that … 60% are voting for the enemy …Israel will cease to exist in two years,” Trump said. “I believe I’m 100% right. … If I do win, Israel will be safe and secure, and we’ll stop the toxic poison of antisemitism.”
A recent Pew Research Center survey found Jewish voters favored Harris 65% to Trump’s 34%. Another survey by the Jewish Democratic Council found even starker figures for Trump, with nearly three in four voters preferring Harris.
Trump’s comments come just weeks before the anniversary of Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel. On Thursday, the former president said the attack was a “wake-up call” for the world, saying the United States was in the midst of the worst outbreak in antisemitism “in many generations.”
“Get smart!” he added.
He pledged to restore his travel ban on residents of many Muslim-majority nations, part of his broader promise to begin the largest mass deportation effort in the country’s history if he reenters the White House.
Harris, he added, would be the most “anti-Israel president by far.”
The Harris campaign posted a clip from one of Trump’s speeches on X, formerly Twitter. Watch it below:
