The crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, has deepened as the North-East Caucus of the party has endorsed the embattled Acting National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, on Thursday.
Fintiri, who spoke on behalf of the PDP chapters in Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Borno, and Yobe states, said the zone was impressed with Damagum’s leadership, since he assumed office.
He also highlighted the restraining order which had been given by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, stopping Damagum’s removal from office.
DAILY POST recalls that the court had ruled that Damagum would remain in office and complete the tenure of the former national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
The governor noted that the decision of the court is in the interest of the PDP, party members and the national democratic process.
